On our last day at Taman Negara, our guide took on a scenic boat ride on Sungai Tahah, a shallow river with clear, shallow waters and glistening rocks.
The journey took about half an hour on a small boat designed to carry just 4 or 5 people...
Our boatman steered us thru' shallow rapids....
and archways lined with huge, leaning neram trees ( Diterocarpus oblongifolius ) ..
bent precariously above the water, their trunks and branches festooned with ferns and orchids...
Many boats also passed us by along the watery brown pathway..
But at times, it was quiet...
Our boats finally came to a stop about 500M below the cascading waterfalls at Lata Berkoh and we walked on a path along the river bank, past a visitor lodge...
